Apartments and Other Rentals

Avalon at Grosvenor: Avalon is an apartment chain, but a very nice one at that. This apartment is seriously right next to the Metro, which is great. You'll pay a bit of premium to live there, though. The building is fairly new--it was built in 2003.

Grosvenor Tower: This is on the opposite side of Rockville Pike from the Metro station.  I don't know a ton about this place, but you can see the reviews on apartmentratings.com for yourself.

Jefferson's at Inigo's Crossing: This is on the opposite side of Rockville Pike from the Metro station. This giant complex was built in 2008 and you can read about the difficulty they've had filling the apartments in this Washington Post article.

Parkside Condominiums: There are often condos for rent here. These are a short step across Tuckerman Lane from the Metro stop. Check the newsletter for listings.

NIH rental listings: The NIH maintains a nice site with all sorts of rental listings--including rooms in houses, furnished, and long stay hotels.

Condos

10101 Grosvenor (also called Ten Ten One): A high-rise building with one and two bedroom condos. This is on the opposite side of Rockville Pike from the Metro station.

Parkside Condominiums:
These are a short step across Tuckerman Lane from the Metro stop. Check the newsletter for units that are for sale.

Shopping

Grosvenor Market: A small grocery store featuring wonderful local produce and a deli. They also have a xerox and fax machine, a notary, and postage stamps.

Garrett Park Farmer's Market: Runs on Saturday mornings during the summer.

North Bethesda Market: This shopping center is still under construction. When completed, it will contain a Whole Foods Market and other yet unnamed retail outlets.

Recreation
North Bethesda Trail: This trail is currently under construction. It was previously known as the Bethesda Trolley Trail and connects Bethesda to Rockville and allows access to the Capital Crescent Trail.

North Bethesda Camera Club: There appears to be a waiting list to join this group.

Strathmore Music and Arts Center: Along with musical and theater performances, the Strathmore also offers a variety of classes (dance, arts, music, yoga and more). They also have a small cafe, a gift shop, and an ATM--if you're looking for one in the neighborhood.

Restaurants
Addie's Restaurant: a "New American" restaurant. It is the closest restaurant to the Strathmore Music and Arts Center--if you don't count the cafe that is inside the Strathmore.

Prelude Cafe: This is the cafe inside of the Strathmore Music and Art Center. It is open for lunch most days and two hours before all performances.
